Let's get right to it. Overall, Oscar fashions were unremarkable. And I don't mean they weren't beautiful or chic and that these people aren't gorgeous in t-shirts. I mean, it's winter in Minnesota, we've been waiting for this show since television took a hiatus, and so I really needed to see something sunny, sparkly, scintillating.

February 11, 2008Spring hath SprungAfter wearing my -40 degree down puffer and Uggs for three days straight, I am working on warm-weather visualizing techniques. I thought of my friend, Laura, sipping champagne cocktails at 65-and-sunny Pebble Beach. I thought of how juicy my sheer raspberry lip gloss is going to look with something other than a black cashmere turtleneck (and long underwear top). I wondered how much better a sundae from Sebastian Joe's would taste if I were eating it on the patio in August. On the contrary, there was lots of red and black. That's fine. I wear black almost every day. Jennifer Garner was one of the few who stood out. She looked like a million dollars in her Oscar de la Renta (who...
